My fascination with Street art, or Graffiti, has often been the reason for way too many late nights with my laptop.  My latest endeavours to find more unique art, lead me to unurth.com – a collection of some of the best street art out there.

Going by my earlier post on this topic, a lot of our followers share my fascination.  Here are a few of my latest finds – enjoy!

Violise Lunn trained as a fashion designer at the Danish Design School. She runs her own studio in Copenhagen, specializing in couture clothing for women. She works with a number of different materials including fur, textile and porcelain.

Alongside creating wearable items, Violise Lunn’s other passion is making unwearable items from the simplest textile of all: paper. Finding perfect freedom in this material through sculpting figure silhouettes, angels and her favorite theme – shoes – she allows herself to play with otherwise impossible compositions. Sheer lightness and utter fragility combined with experimental reflection on what these objects represent, result in almost untouchable objects.  Little wonder then that they have instantly become collectors items.

This is her work with paper.

Although I’m not that into ultra modern and minimalist, this is one of those houses that just speak to me.

I love the clean open feel of the spaces; the architectural lines – how it balances, adds definition, texture & visual interest. I love how the natural light permeates the place and nature is allowed to play its part in complimenting the overall design.  The views are breathtaking from all angles. Dark grey used in the decor ties the exterior & interior elements together, tempering the overall white which could so easily have overwhelmed.

Studiocanoe is a creative project that encompasses a graphic arts agency, a short film collection and Doran’s portfolio as an illustrator. It is these particular drawings that catches the eye, for all their cheerful post-industrial revolution panache. See, Doran may live in our present reality, but in his art and in his head, he lives elsewhere altogether. In the cafés of the Paris of yore, in trains traveling across countries undergoing major productivity and industry changes and in fields of bright red poppies. His art is vividly detailed, although he doesn’t really use colors other than the occasional red.

Doran draws dreams of a steampunk era that was at once in the course of industrialization and dehumanization, yet immensely alive, and replete with emotion. The artist based in London is a 2008 graduate of the Falmouth College of the arts.  He surely has a great sense of humor and likes making films just as much as he loves drawing.
